This is that part of the city centre just north of the River Liffey. The Liffey runs right through the centre of Dublin in a straight line and for locals it’s the South side vs the North side (forget East and West). North Side has some good shopping (Henry/Talbot St), cinemas, theatres (the Abbey) and it's a hop skip and a jump over the River to Temple Bar.
It includes O'Connell Street, Dublin's main thoroughfare, the General Post Office (GPO - the focal-point of the Easter Rising), the Garden of Remembrance & Dublin's Financial Services Centre (IFSC). Recent developments include the new Docklands and the Point Depot/O2 music venue.
We’ve divided the North side city centre for ease into four areas. See our Dublin Map for more precise locations. All hotels have their map number beside them.

“The staff were very, very friendly. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. The latter is very important, given the relatively central postion of the hotel. The breakfast was huge, and lots of choice in a buffet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”
